Chun-Tsiu
   The fourth of the nine authoritative works on Confucianism. The name means ‘Spring and Autumn’, and the work itself, which is a history of the Chinese state of Lu from 772. B.C. to 484 B.C., is usually regarded as having been written by Confucius himself. The style, however, is rather that of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, a sequence of factual statements of events. The preceding work is the Shi-King, the following work is the Li-Ki.
